About Us

Our aims are:

  • To ensure that BAME Women's voices are heard by policy makers locally, regionally and nationally through the GM4Women2028 group and by Local Authorities.

  • To give Ethnic Minority women's organisations in Greater Manchester a platform to highlight what's important to us, the issues we and our organisations are facing and how policy makers can help.

Making our voices heard

Assembly Hall

When we tell policy makers about the complex challenges our organisations face in delivering services to women like us, we are able to influence change. The more of us that speak up, the quicker the change is likely to come.  It is important that our organisations are able to influence change at a regional and local level. The GM4Women group gives us a platform to voice our concerns at a regional level and conversations with Local Authorities enable us to influence at a local level.

Once we have highlighted our challenges, we then need to collect evidence and we can start this by talking to one another. This site gives us the forum to have those conversations, share experiences, knowledge and create solutions.

Log in, join the network and share your thoughts and experiences and we look forward to meeting you at the next GM4Women meeting... Check out our events below for dates.

All Hands In

The Forum is for us to highlight issues that women are facing. It's common knowledge that BAME women's issues are more complex, members can ask each other questions and make suggestions.

You no longer have to travel to a meeting to add to a discussion.  You can log on at any time, follow issues that are of interest to you and contribute to items whenever you like. You can post a question and seek advice from other members too.  You can follow members who have raised interesting or relevant questions and keep updated on what's happening across GM. The issues that are raised in this forum will inform the GM4Women group and ultimately the GM panel for Women and Girls of some of the issues that are important to BAME womens organisations.
